Free Winter Wonderland Language & Literacy Resource!

Happy World Kindness Day one and all!

I shared a link yesterday for Booktime Magazine and mentioned it could be a useful classroom resource, featuring, as it does, book recommendations, reviews, interviews with authors, etc. One of the featured writers is Abi Elphinstone, author of Snow Dragon. Her interview offers insights into her childhood and into the process of getting Snow Dragon to the shelves. I believe the rich vocabulary used in the interview is worth exploring with pupils as are Abi’s thoughts on nature and the planet.

Inspired, I created a literacy and language resource, packed full of questions and offering lots of discussion prompts. It can be used with UKS2 pupils to draw attention to use of language, word meanings, and various elements of grammar. EAL pupils, seeking to broaden their vocabulary, may also find it helpful. With 4 pages of questions and prompts, there is surely something for everyone!
