  • What is the opposite of rise / leave / clean / small?
  • In your opinion, which of the words on the card will have the most rhyming words?
  • Investigate.  Were you correct?
  • Can you jumble the letters of any word on the cards to make a new word?
  • Change one letter in each word to make a new word.
  • Add suffixes to the words in the word zone to create new words.
  • Can you add a different suffix each time?
  • Can you make up a sentence using the words in either word zone?  Can you retell your sentence in a different tense?

Shape Zone:

  • Would you put any of the shapes together?  Why?
  • Can you see an odd-one-out in the shape zone?  What makes you say this?
  • Do the shapes tessellate?  How do you know?

Ok, so 5 minutes might be ambitious for all of these, but how about 5 minutes per zone?
