CardEd’s downloadable bumper Activity Guide is designed for use with all 4 sets of CardEd learning cards. Organised according to the CardEd Zones (Colour, Symbol, Letter, Word, Number, and Mathematics/Image) and sets, the guide outlines over 100 separate activities and offers many more tips, questions, extensions, and checklists to further support learning. Because of their design, CardEd cards can be used with children of different ages by varying the difficulty level of the task or by changing the level of support offered. The comprehensive guide shows how to do this.
CardEd activities were created with a range of learning goals and thinking skills in mind, including phonics, mathematics, and problem-solving. Promoting oral language and social interaction were to the fore in designing each CardEd deck. As such, CardEd activities can be used to assist with the teaching/consolidation of letters and sounds, numbers, shapes, and to promote vocabulary development. Each set builds on the content of the previous one but can be used on a standalone basis. The guide offers lots of ideas to support the content areas of each CardEd set.
