5 St. Patrick’s Day Activity Ideas for Children!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

A green theme seems very appropriate for the day that’s in it!

As you know, we have a St. Patricks Day PDF available for free in our shop. Download it to learn more about St. Patrick, Irish customs and symbols and some arts and crafts ideas your children may love to try.

On the arts & crafts theme, I would like to alert you to #wewilldraw. Created by artist Will Sliney, his mission is to encourage creativity during this school closure period, and he will be teaching classes online for children throughout. Ask your child to draw their favourite Irish person (sports star, historical figure or family member). You may wish to post it to Twitter using #wewilldraw. Even if you are not from Ireland and this challenge is not of interest, your child may really enjoy Will’s youtube channel which will support them to hone their drawing skills.

‘Global Greening’ is an initiative of the Irish Tourism Board which involves the lighting up in green of famous landmarks around the world. Why not have a chat with your child about all the famous landmarks they know? This 2016 video shows ‘global greening’ in action. How many landmarks from their list feature in the video?

As parades and celebrations in towns have been cancelled, why not have your child create their own toy parade to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?

For today’s CardEd activity ideas, I simply had to choose a green card. Try some of the activities below with your child and remember to download our FREE Bumper Activity Guide for more suggestions and ideas for using CardEd.
